"The Three Holy Hierarchs" Church – GENUNENI, Commune FRÂNCEŞTI (County VÂLCEA); 1797, painter: Dinu

The church was built on the estate of Demetrius Genuneanu, founders being the Archimandrite Stephen (brother of Demetrios) and the priest Matthew Mănăstireanu. The church has triconic plan and it was painted in 1801 by Dinu from Craiova. The iconographic themes are: the Annunciation, the Nativity of the Virgin, military saints, philosophers and Sibyls (prophetesses).
