"Pious Parascheva" Church, CĂLINEŞTI, city BREZOI (County VÂLCEA); 1775, painter: Damascus

The founders of this church were John and his brothers, helped by the congregation of Călinești community. The church has a rectangular plan and the altar's apse is polygonal. It has external painting only in the porch. There were two stages of the execution of the painting. The first stages, the pictorial decoration, was done in 1782 and is the work of the painter Damascus of Păuşani, while the second, dated post 1815, is due to anonymous painters.
